[100th Anniversary of the Communist Party of China] 92-year-old artist Li Guangxi re-sings "On the Songhua River"

  On May 16, the National Library Art Center "Salute to the Classics·Red Memory in Art" series of activities. Li Guangxi, Lin Zhonghua, Zhao Qing, Caidan Zhuoma and Deng Yuhua participated in the performance of the large-scale music and dance epic "Dongfang Hong" that year. An old artist was present to tell the story behind this first great song and dance work that fully reflects the history of the Chinese revolution after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

At the scene, the old artists re-sang their previous works separately.

This year, 92-year-old Li Guangxi sang "On the Songhua River" together with enthusiastic readers. His voice was loud and won full applause.

  Li Guangxi said that as a young man, he only understood the historical and practical significance behind this song after participating in "Dongfanghong".

He hopes that the red classics can be passed on from generation to generation and have the same effect on contemporary young people.
