China News Agency, Hong Kong, May 15 (Reporter Suo Youwei) On May 15, China's first Mars exploration mission, Tianwen-1, successfully landed on Mars.

The reporter learned from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) that PolyU has two interdisciplinary scientific research teams involved. They are contributing to the topographic survey and assessment of the Mars landing zone and the development of a fire monitoring camera (ie, a Mars camera).

  PolyU would like to extend heartfelt congratulations on the successful landing of the Tianwen-1 probe on Mars.

Dr. Lim Taihui, Chairman of the Board of Governors of PolyU, said: “The mission of the Mars Exploration Program is arduous. This feat proves China’s technology and capabilities in deep space exploration. PolyU’s scientific research team will continue to contribute to the Mars Exploration Program and wish the entire exploration program a success. A complete success."

  Professor Teng Kam Kwong, President of PolyU, said: "PolyU is honored to have two interdisciplinary research teams involved in the topographic survey and evaluation of the Mars landing zone, and the development of the falling fire monitoring camera (i.e. Mars camera). PolyU has also been involved. The Deep Space Exploration Research Center led by Professor Rong Qiliang was recently established, and will continue to spare no effort to support the research and development of more space technologies, and strive to contribute to the country’s development with scientific research.
