As a result of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's first survey on "inappropriate childcare" such as punishing children in childcare, a total of more than 340 cases were confirmed at daycare centers nationwide during the year ending March last year. I understand.

Regarding "inappropriate childcare" at nursery schools, the actual situation has not been grasped because there is no clear definition so far, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has positioned it as "an act that requires improvement from the perspective of respecting human rights and personality" and is the first. We conducted a national survey.

As a result, a total of 345 cases of "inappropriate childcare" were confirmed in the first year of Reiwa in 96 local governments.

▽ Especially noticeable was "punishing / violent involvement", which was confirmed in 60 local governments.

▽ Next, "relationships that do not respect each person's personality" were confirmed in 46, and ▽ "relationships that compel things, threatening words" were confirmed in 45 local governments.

In addition to "sexual abuse," cases such as "leaving children" and "not responding to children's complaints" were also reported.

On the other hand, it was also found that about 80% of the 1060 local governments that responded to the survey did not prepare guidelines or manuals to prevent them.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will consider specific measures in the future based on the survey results.
