Representatives of party members in the field of disability affairs met and exchanged views with Chinese and foreign reporters on "promoting the spirit of self-improvement and helping the disabled, and creating a happy and beautiful life."
[Explanation] Liu Ruyuan, a representative of the disabled party member from Guangxi, introduced that he lost the palm of his right hand in an accident when he was 16 years old.
However, the physical disability did not defeat Liu Ruyuan.
Through hard work, he succeeded in starting a business and led his father and villagers to get rid of poverty and become rich.

Through the exploration of black goat breeding technology and the use of all the goat breeding technology learned, together with the local people, a large-scale breeding base integrating goat breed improvement, production and reproduction, and production, supply and marketing has been established.
At present, a total of 300 impoverished disabled and 813 impoverished households have been lifted out of poverty by raising black goats, and each household’s income has increased by 20,000 yuan.
[Explanation] Starting a business is not easy, and the road for people with disabilities to start a business is even more difficult.
Liu Ruyuan recalled that he had encountered countless failures in the course of his own business.
For example, once, the goats being bred were preparing to be sold, but a flood cost him 300,000 yuan.

My sheep farm was flooded overnight and there was an epidemic. The investment of more than 300,000 yuan was lost all at once.
When I was unable to do anything, the town party committee leaders and village cadres took the initiative to come to me, talk to me, and encourage me to stand up.
They knew that I lacked funds, so they found a credit union according to relevant policies, and coordinated the bank to help me with loans, so that I could tide over the difficulties.
To be honest, an ordinary person is really grateful for this kind of help.
When I have the ability, I will definitely lead more people to get rich.
[Explanation] If you want to get rid of poverty, you must first stand up spiritually.
In Liu Ruyuan's view, it is very important to give full play to the active leadership role of party members.

I remember an example around me. There was an old Li in the village next to me. He was in his 40s. He was a good man. He has never been able to marry a wife, let alone live in a house.
He lives by going up the mountain to collect firewood.
One day, he found me crying and said he didn't want to be poor anymore, he wanted to raise sheep with me.
At that time, I gave him six lambs, but only symbolically charged him 50 yuan.
A few years later, Lao Li became a famous sheep-raiser in our local area. He built a three-story building, married a wife and gave birth to children, and his life was prosperous.
Examples like Lao Li are everywhere around us, and they are all doing well.
[Explanation] One hand can also stand upright. Liu Ruyuan said that in the future, he will continue to study on the road of raising sheep and lead everyone to get rich together.

One hand is not terrible. The terrible thing is that there is no firm will to go on. Although I only have one hand, as long as I work hard, one hand can stand upright, and one hand can get rid of poverty and become rich.
In the future, I will definitely be on the road of raising sheep, not only to raise my own sheep, but also to be the "leader" for the masses to get rid of poverty and become rich.
