details that you need to know about this strict sanitary protocol.

Indochina live in front of a delirious crowd, a pure fantasy in 2021? No, because on May 29, the group will indeed perform on the Accor Arena stage in Paris, in front of 5,000 people, during an unprecedented “test concert”, supervised by the Assistance publique-Hôpitaux de Paris. (AP-HP) and the national union of musical and variety shows (Prodiss). The goal of the “Ambition Live Again” operation? "Feed the health protocols adapted to standing configurations, so that cultural events do not generate overexposure to the risk of contamination to Covid-19", explain the organizers on the AP-HP website. In other words, allow a gradual resumption, at the start of the school year, of these cultural events.

"The preliminary results will be known at the end of June and followed by a scientific publication", explained Wednesday Pr Constance Delaugerre, virologist at Saint-Louis hospital, during a press conference reported by AFP.

This study "should at least make it possible to move towards a recovery at the start of the school year in September", presented the president of Prodiss Olivier Darbois.

Standing concerts have in fact been banned since March 2020 due to the health crisis.

The pandemic caused "85% losses, or 2.3 billion euros" in the musical spectacle, he recalled.

Encouraging for the months to come, this test concert will nevertheless take place within the framework of a very strict protocol.

Gauge, health pass, registrations… What you need to know about this test concert, a first in France.

Several tests to perform before and after the concert

Unlike the concerts planned for next summer (especially in the rare festivals that will be held), this concert will take place standing, with a gauge of 5,000 spectators, who will all have to wear a mask at all times. At the same time, a group of 2,500 people will also be part of the study, but will not participate in the event. "This randomized clinical trial will consist for the first time in Europe in comparing the risk of contamination between two groups of people", it is specified on the site of the AP-HP.

The 5,000 people selected for the concert will have to go to the Accor Arena in the three days before the concert (June 26, 27 and 28), in order to carry out a first rapid antigen test.

On D-day, they will have to bring their negative results to access the room, and will be subjected to a second test, saliva this time.

Finally, a week later, the 7,500 participants in the experiment will have to perform a self-sampling saliva, and send it by mail in an envelope that will be provided to them beforehand.

Wearing a compulsory mask and experimenting with the health pass

During the concert, the 5,000 spectators will be filmed in order to study their use of the mask, which is compulsory.

"This device will make it possible to obtain precise, objective and up-to-date anonymous statistics on the rate of people wearing their mask correctly (no mask, badly worn, well worn) throughout the duration of the event", detail the organizers.

The protocol also provides for a "reinforcement of hand hygiene, as well as an optimized ventilation of the room".

Likewise, spectators will be invited to use the new functionality of the TousAntiCovid Carnet application for the screening of the screening test at the entrance.

The purpose of this experiment is to "see the feasibility and acceptability of the health pass in real size", underlined Pr Constance Delaugerre.

Online registrations and draw

To participate in this test, you can already register on the ambitionliveagain.org site for a draw to be one of the 7,500 participants.

Several conditions are required: you must reside in Ile-de-France, be between 18 and 45 years old, have no symptoms of Covid-19 and not have been in contact with a person who tested positive in the last two weeks.

Likewise, you will have to declare "not to be a carrier of any risk factor of serious form", and "not to live under the same roof as a person carrying these factors".

A full-scale test costing more than a million euros

According to AFP, the Ministry of Health finances the scientific part to the tune of 800,000 euros, while the concert production part ("467,000 euros excluding tax" according to Olivier Darbois) is covered by the support of public and private partners (the city of Paris graciously provides Bercy).

Finally, the Indochine group will receive no cachet, and will thus perform for free.
