A woman died on Monday evening in Bordeaux, after a police officer opened fire on her in self-defense, according to the first elements of the investigation.

The police intervened on rue de Pessac after an alert from the Samu, while the woman threatened her husband and her child with a knife.

When they arrived there, the police found the husband and child outside the home, where the woman was holed up.

She then stabbed one of the police officers who tried to intervene, hitting him in the leg.

One of his colleagues opened fire, seriously injuring the victim on the upper body.

She was transported in absolute urgency to the CHU of Pellegrin, where she died.

The prosecution of the judicial court went there.
