Following the spread of the new coronavirus infection, Governor Nakamura of Nagasaki Prefecture had a telephone conversation with the Minister for Economic Revitalization Nishimura and requested that "priority measures such as prevention of spread" be applied to the prefecture.

Governor Nakamura of Nagasaki Prefecture had a telephone conversation with the Minister for Economic Revitalization Nishimura on the afternoon of the 10th following the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

Among them, Governor Nakamura told Minister Nishimura that the number of newly infected people is increasing, especially in Nagasaki city, and the bed usage rate exceeds 80%, which affects general medical care. Therefore, as it is necessary to strengthen the measures, we requested that "priority measures such as spread prevention" be applied to the prefecture.

In response, Minister Nishimura responded, "I am aware of the serious situation of infection. The national government wants to analyze it thoroughly."

Governor Nakamura requested that restaurants in Nagasaki City be shortened to 8:00 pm from 28th last month, but the number of newly infected people in the prefecture announced on 4th this month was 62. The spread of the infection continued, with more than 60 people, the highest number in the third wave.

For this reason, Governor Nakamura held an extraordinary press conference on the 7th of this month, issued a prefecture-specific "state of emergency" to Nagasaki City, and told the government as early as this week to prevent the spread. He expressed his desire to request the application of "equal priority measures".

In response to this request, Governor Nakamura commented, "We will continue to pay close attention to the discussions in the country and devote all our efforts to the corona measures that we are currently implementing."
