Chief judge Gao Yongwen, previous award winners, Hong Kong artists Yan Yan and Lishen Fang attended the launching ceremony.
The election was organized by the International Youth Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong General Association.
Participants were selected from 5 sectors, including "Public and Social Services", "Business and Industry", "Education", "Performing Arts, Recreation and Sports, Culture and Art" and "Professional Work".
The nominees will be selected by the selection consultant first, and the candidates who pass the preliminary selection will be interviewed by the jury.
The chief judge and former director of the Food and Health Bureau of the Special Administrative Region Government, Gao Yongwen, said in his speech that the purpose of the "Top Ten Outstanding Youth Election" is to create the future. He hopes to cross boundaries and achieve careers. All outstanding young people have done their jobs and served. Society has a positive impact on local youth.
He hopes that the election can select outstanding young people who can shine and lead the society in the future.
According to reports, this year's honorary patron is Zhang Jianzong, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Special Administrative Region Government.
In addition to Gao Yongwen, the judging panel also included Chen Jiaqiang, former director of the Finance and Treasury Bureau, Lin Dahui, chairman of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Council, children educator Mo Fengyi, and Hong Kong Social Venture Fund founder Wei Huaxing.
Since the establishment of the "Top Ten Outstanding Youth Election" in Hong Kong in 1970, nearly 400 outstanding young people from different industries and sectors have been selected.
The former chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Leung Chun-ying, the convener of the non-official members of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Chen Zhisi, and the international superstar Jackie Chan have all been elected.
