An expert warns of the danger of mold on the walls of homes

An expert at the Mycology Department of the Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University warned that mold on the walls of homes can cause various diseases to residents.

The expert stressed that mold stains are not just an external defect, but are formed through the accumulation of various types of microscopic fungi, according to Russian media.

He warned that some of these fungi are pathogenic, meaning that they can multiply in human tissues and lead to serious diseases such as fungi and allergies.

He said that a person with a healthy body resists the effects of fungi if the concentration of these pathological factors is low.

But if a person suffers from chronic diseases or has undergone surgery, he is in danger.

Mold is especially dangerous for people with weakened immune systems.

Therefore, in case of immunodeficiency, mycosis may cause death.

The expert pointed out that a person is more susceptible to fungal infection when he is forced to take antibiotics.

He explained, "The bacteria on the skin and mucous membranes are the body's first line of defense, against external infections. When we destroy them with antibiotics, pathogenic fungi can easily settle there."

Residents of apartments with dark mold spots on the walls are at risk of developing allergies, because the spores released by the mold cause allergies, he added.

The expert noted that the detergents only help to temporarily eliminate the fungi on the walls.
