Johan Dalene is described as one of the country's most promising musicians.
He started playing the violin at the age of four.
Today he is twenty and has already attracted attention abroad.
Behind is a persistent repetition.
- From four to six hours a day, sometimes less, sometimes more.
Especially from when I was fourteen years old.
That's when I really felt that I wanted to start investing in this, he says.
Highlights his role models
As a teenager, he won a number of prestigious competitions.
In addition to all the rehearsal hours and a good portion of talent, one can ask oneself what it takes to succeed.
Johan Dalene himself highlights his role models.
- I have been very lucky with my teachers and have had the privilege of playing for good musicians.
I have been able to play chamber music with people I look up to.
Then I have seen how they scratch and accurate they are.
Who do you look up to?
- Many.
Janine Jansen is a name.
David Ojstrach.
Jascha Heifetz.
The goal: find your own sound
Johan Dalene plays on a Stradivarius from 1736.
- You have to get to know the instrument and know how to play to find the best possible sound and it took quite a long time but it feels like we found each other more and more.
From an early age, Johan Dalene's goal was to become a soloist.
Now that it is fulfilled, he has set his sights on getting his own musical expression.
- If you put on a record with Jascha Heifetz, you can hear that he is the one who plays.
The goal is to have your own personal sound.
