"Over the past day on May 9, 96 forest fires were liquidated in Russia on an area of ​​19 180 hectares," RIA Novosti quoted a message as saying.

The largest area of ​​fires was recorded in the Tyumen region - 9 364 hectares.

Earlier, in 11 municipalities of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, a special fire regime was introduced due to the heat (+30 ° C).
