In 2013, when

Dieudonné Nzapalainga

had just been appointed archbishop of Bangui, following the arrival in the Central African Republic of the mercenaries of the predominantly Muslim Seleka, the civil war raged and took a dangerous denominational turn.

Understanding that religion was going to become the fuel of a long political conflict, with Imam Omar Kobine Layama and Pastor Nicolas Guerekoyame-Gbangou, he created the platform of religious denominations of the Central African Republic.

And at the risk of his life, he meets warlords to convince them to come out of armed violence.

Raised to the rank of cardinal in 2016, one year after the historic visit of Pope Francis to Bangui, who has become a major figure of peace on the African continent, he remains the Spiritan priest at the service of the poor.

With journalist

Laurence Desjoyaux

La Vie

, who accompanied Cardinal Nzapalainga on one of his tours in the country, he tells for the first time in the book

I came to bring you peace

” (Mediaspaul )

his personal background and his experience in conflict resolution.
