the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day

This is evident from the numbers from Sunday morning, which reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 5:37 a.m.
For comparison: a week ago the value was 16,290.
On Sunday, the number of cases reported by the RKI is usually lower, among other things because fewer tests are carried out on the weekend.

The RKI has counted a total of 3,520,329 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 84,775.

This means that 100 infected people theoretically infect 91 more people.

, the reported corona infections are falling despite far-reaching easing of the corona measures.
In the week from April 26 to May 2, the number of reported infections decreased by around 18 percent, as the Federal Office of Public Health reported on Thursday.
The
incidence
per 100,000 inhabitants fell from
168.8 to 137.8
infections, but at the same time the number of deaths rose from 50 to 59.
The office presents figures on the newly reported infections on a daily basis, but only calculates the 14-day incidence on a daily basis.
The seven-day incidence is calculated once a week.
On Thursday, a total of 1687 new infections were reported within 24 hours, compared with 2066 a week ago.

World Health Organization (WHO)
warned of the risk of further devastating corona outbreaks along the lines of India.

"This virus has tremendous kinetic energy," said Ryan.
"It has massive infectious power, and we have to slow the spread." In some countries, the situation is already developing in a similar way to India, said Ryan, without giving a name.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus later mentioned the tense situation in Brazil and Nepal.
Other countries could soon find themselves in a similar emergency.
The vaccinations alone are not yet the sufficient answer, said Ryan, referring to the far too small production and the uneven distribution of vaccines in the world.
According to the CDC,
around 33 percent of Americans have
already been vaccinated twice. The CDC announced that almost 111 million people received a second dose of a vaccine. A good 150 million people have been vaccinated once.
