China News Service, Lincang, May 9th, title: "Mosaic" comrades who sacrificed the police: Mother Ziquan, we are all your sons

  Author Qian Xingzhong

26 years ago, when her husband sacrificed her life, she said, “Without the police, where is the peace, where is the home without peace?” 26 years later, when her son died, she said: “If I choose again, I will still Support him as a policeman." She is the wife of revolutionary martyr Zhang Congshun, and the mother of Zhang Ziquan, a policeman who sacrificed herself on duty.

In 1994, Zhang Congshun, then director of the Junong Police Station of the Zhenkang County Public Security Bureau, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, died heroically to protect his comrades when arresting drug dealers.

At that time, after Peng Taizhen, who was working in the field, learned the news, she rushed to the scene with her shoes, rolled up her trouser legs, and barefoot to see Zhang Congshun for the last time. She held Zhang Congshun's cold hands in pain, but she couldn't shed tears.

She not only bears the pain of losing her husband alone, but also bears the pressure of raising three sons and supporting Zhang Congshun's mother.

The picture shows Peng Taizhen raised her three sons and sent them to the police force.

The eldest son Zhang Zicheng recalled: “After the father’s sacrifice, the three brothers were all in school. It was when the money was used, but the mother never borrowed a cent. She relied on farming and raising pigs to subsidize the family. Many times we woke up at night and paid back. I saw her sew clothes for the three brothers under the faint light." Like her husband Zhang Congshun, Peng Taizhen did not see others suffer. She would rather eat less, spend less, and subsidize neighbors who are more difficult than her.

For the convenience of schooling, she often takes the children of relatives to the otherwise not wealthy homes for them to go to school, and uses her own practice to remind the children to keep in mind the father’s teaching of "being a good person".

The picture shows the youngest son, Zhang Ziquan, was overworked and sacrificed on duty when he was investigating a case involving the epidemic across the province in December 2020.

Peng Taizhen’s niece Li Zhongqin recalled the past and was quite touched: “At that time, when I was going to school far away from the city, my aunt took me home to take care of my daily life. I lived with other cousins. Our seven or eight children squeezed together in my aunt’s house. She spent all her energy on raising us. She is the kind of person who would rather be hungry than let others suffer." Peng Taizhen told the children "Only by studying and learning knowledge can we support ourselves and serve the country." "Under his encouragement, the children of the Zhang family all walked out of the countryside.

Peng Taizhen's tenacious, hard-working and simple image left a deep impression on the neighbors in the village. Although her life was poor, she never showed the slightest grievance in front of her children.

Relying on the hard work of leaving early and returning home every day, he strengthened his husband Zhang Congshun's persistent love for his career, and sent his three sons one by one into the team where Zhang Congshun had fought.

When asked why this is done?

Don’t worry, she said: “I know when the police are dangerous, but Lao Zhang said that there is no peace where the police can come, and there is no home where there is peace. When Lao Zhang is gone, let them continue.”

Under the influence of his father and mother, the three Zhang family brothers unanimously took the alarm country as a lifelong pursuit.

The eldest Zhang Zicheng stayed in his hometown of Zhenkang, and worked in the most basic Fengwei police station for more than 20 years; the second child Zhang Zibing became a traffic policeman, staying in the streets and alleys in the wind and rain; the third child Zhang Ziquan followed his father's footsteps. Actively applied to join the anti-drug detachment, and traveled more than 300 days a year.

As a mother, as long as she doesn't see Ziquan for a few days, she will look around at the door, hoping that her beloved little son will appear in front of her.

For Peng Taizhen, being the mother of the three police officers is an honor but a responsibility.

Every Qingming Festival, she will take three brothers to visit Zhang Congshun’s grave. Seeing that the three brothers in police uniforms pay tribute to her father in a police-specific way, Peng Taizhen seems to have finally fulfilled a promise, "The kid is his father, let’s see You are here. The three dolls are like you. They put on police uniforms and walked on the road you haven't finished. You can rest assured."

In December 2020, the younger son Zhang Ziquan was overworked and sacrificed on duty when he was investigating a case involving the epidemic across the province.

After 26 years, Peng Taizhen suffered another fatal blow. The white-haired man sent the black-haired man.

It’s hard to imagine how a middle-aged mother who lost her husband and lost her son would survive the long nights. She often said to herself little stories about Zhang Ziquan’s growth, but she didn’t shed tears in front of outsiders. Said: "If you choose again, you still support them as the police!"

Today, on Mother's Day, police mother Peng Taizhen can no longer receive the blessing text message that the youngest son will always send no matter how busy she is, and can no longer wait for the hug that will remember to make up even if she is away on business.

"You are loyal to the country, and we will do your filial piety." Zhang Ziquan’s comrade-in-arms and the policeman who always had to make mosaics (who have been engaged in anti-drug work for a long time) paid tribute to Zhang Ziquan’s mother on Mother’s Day. "From now on we will all be your sons. We will also continue his unfinished business!" (End)
