The Tokyo Olympic torch relay was held on the 8th, the second day in Nagasaki Prefecture.

In Sasebo City, the goal point, the last runner finished the schedule while reducing the number of spectators at the ceremony to half of the original to prevent infection with the new coronavirus.

The Tokyo Olympic torch relay was held in Nagasaki Prefecture from the 7th, and about 180 runners ran in 17 cities and towns in the two days until the 8th.



On the 8th of the second day, nine cities and towns connected the torch, and in the first Nagayo town, 10 members of the Nagasaki Hokuyodai High School rugby club started at 9 am.



In Goto City, Yukino Yamaguchi, a university student in Nagasaki City who has been working to eliminate nuclear weapons since high school, connected the torch.



Mr. Yamaguchi said, "I would be happy if I could connect peace to everyone's hearts by running with peace in my heart."



At the venue of the ceremony held in Sasebo City, the goal point, the number of spectators was reduced to 500, which was half of the original number due to the influence of the new coronavirus.



At the venue, Kenji Jojima, who was born in the local area and played an active part in professional baseball and major league baseball, lit the torch plate as the final runner and finished the two-day schedule.



The torch relay will be held in Saga Prefecture from the 9th.
