According to a survey published by Public Health France, 56% of French people now plan to be vaccinated.

And in vaccination centers, such as the Saint-Quentin en Yvelines vaccinodrome, candidates are flocking every day.

REPORTAGE

In France, the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 continues to accelerate. On Friday, more than 600,000 people received an injection, while from Monday the vaccination will be extended to all over 50 years, without condition of health, and to all adults without condition of age from Wednesday in case of appointment - you are available the day before for the next day. Good news accompanied by growing public support for the vaccine.

This acceleration is visible at the Vaccinodrome of Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, one of the largest in the country.

The number of vaccinated, indicated on the screen at the entrance to the center, increases every 15 seconds.

"The pressure is mounting," confirms Jean-Michel Fourgous, the president of the agglomeration of Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, which manages the vaccinodrome.

"It's going well, it's been four months that we are running, which allows us to go up," he adds.

"We started at 200 doses per day and today we will be at 3,500-3,600 doses."

Vaccination extended to assessors for the regional

Checking appointments, questionnaires, injections ... The organization has become almost military. And in the blue tents where the nurses prick, all profiles and all ages are present. Among those present, Mélodie took advantage of the latest expansion of vaccination to assessors for the regional elections in June. "It's a coincidence," she says. "I was given the tip, and afterwards, I wanted to be an assessor ... It's more practical." Same strategy for Guillaume, 24, who will run a polling station in Bois-d'Arcy. "It allows me to be freed from this weight and to be able to tell myself that by being vaccinated, I will surely be able to do more things," he says.

For these new eligible profiles, no proof is needed.

The managers of the center are well aware that it is therefore easy to free the line but let it happen.

"By June 15, we must have vaccinated as many people as possible, so we are opening considerably", explains Jean-Michel Fourgous.

More than half of French people plan to be vaccinated

And at the Vaccinodrome of Saint-Quentin en Yvelines as in all the others, attendance could increase further. More than half of French people (56%) now plan to be vaccinated, 16 points more than last December at the time of the first vaccinations, according to a survey published by Public Health France. In detail, the most motivated are the over 50s. In general, men are a bit more competitive than women.

This survey also shows that more and more young people intend to be vaccinated. In March, only one in three young people under 25 intended to protect themselves, while today 55% are ready for the injection. Finally, it is the 25/35 year olds who are currently the most reluctant, with only 43% of applicants. The main reasons given for refusing the vaccine are fear of side effects and doubts about the effectiveness of the sera. But these people say they would be willing to change their mind if given more medical information.
