[100th Anniversary of the Communist Party of China] Chengdu 80-year-old veterans collected handprints and deeds of more than 200 comrades-in-arms

Recently, in Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, an elderly man wearing presbyopic glasses, standing upright, sitting at a desk and writing carefully one by one, a bright red palm print on the book page is particularly eye-catching.

The old man is Gao Yimin, a retired worker of the Sichuan Chemical Group, and a veteran of the army.

For many years, Gao Yimin has been focusing on one thing-to compile the palm prints collected to defend the motherland into a book to present the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

At present, he has compiled two sets of pamphlets, including handprints and deeds of more than 200 veterans.

After visiting the Jianchuan Museum and seeing the red handprints left by the Sichuan Army’s anti-Japanese heroes, Gao Yimin was deeply inspired. He wanted to collect the handprints of the veterans who defended the motherland and make them into a book to let his descendants remember the history.

With the support of his family and comrades in arms, he went to Xi'an, Zigong, Meishan and other places at his own expense to visit the veterans and collect the handprints, photos and life stories of the veterans.
