With more than five million people with the complete vaccination schedule and 12 million citizens with at least one dose in their body, the

vaccination plan is

progressing at a good pace - "like a shot," said the Minister of Health a few days ago,

Carolina Darias

-. Everything seems to indicate that the goal of having

70% of the population

vaccinated by the end of the summer

could be met. But, what happens if they call you to get vaccinated and you are not there? What if they give you an appointment when you are somewhere else on vacation? Are there plans that contemplate what to do in those cases?

Minister Darias, in a recent appearance, indicated that "what is planned is for those people who have a displaced persons card [a document that can be obtained by those citizens who are temporarily outside their autonomous community]. These cases, he added,

" they are already being vaccinated in the autonomous community in which they have moved ".

However, when asked what would happen if a person receives the summons from their usual health center and cannot go because they are hundreds of kilometers away, the minister said she had no evidence that this possibility "has been contemplated."

"In any case,

the health services give advance

notice

so that they can be vaccinated and, if not, we will have to wait until the cutoff shift ends to be able to get vaccinated again," he added.

The power to decide how to act in these cases rests with the autonomous communities.

For example, sources from the Madrid Ministry of Health indicate that their intention is that the citizen can previously choose when to get vaccinated.

"An app and a website will be put up to choose an appointment on site and time throughout this month," they indicate.

The Navarra Ministry of Health explains that initially the person is called up to three times to give them an appointment.

If you do not find that person, you go to the Basic Health Zone (territorial distribution units of Navarra in terms of Health services) for their contact.

If from this it is no longer achieved, it appears

at the end of the list

, they clarify.

The Valencian Community has also developed a plan to keep up with vaccinations.

Thus, if the person mentioned anticipates that he will not be able to attend the call, he can notify his health center so that the appointment can be resumed later and another person can take advantage of that gap.

Other regions have not commented on the matter.

In any case, the Secretary of State for Health,

Silvia Calzón

, urged citizens on Thursday who believe that their deadline to be vaccinated will coincide with some displacement that they communicate it to the health system of the destination community to guarantee that they will receive their vaccine wherever they are transferred (by means of the transfer card).
