There were 5 gangs, 1 technology company, 2 fourth-party payment platforms, 758 bank and third-party payment accounts were frozen, and 25.78 million yuan of funds involved were frozen.

There are hundreds of thousands of people involved in gambling all over the country, and the funds involved are nearly 3 billion yuan.

  According to the police report, in November 2020, during a work inspection by the Guangzhou police, it was discovered that a suspected gambling group provided video sources by opening a physical casino in a holiday hotel overseas, using an APP called "XX International" to use mobile phones and computers to provide video sources. The terminal sets up gambling through online live broadcast, and connects to the fourth-party payment platform to realize operations such as recharging and scoring.

  The Guangzhou police set up a "11.11" online gambling task force to fully carry out investigation work.

After continuous tackling, the task force conducted big data multi-dimensional analysis of relevant information, and found that the core operation staff of the gang involved more than 80,000 agent accounts and more than 300,000 member accounts, and mastered the "Overseas Casino-Client Signature Technology-No. The 670 people involved in the "Sifang Payment-Code Merchants-Domestic Gambling Group" chain include overseas casino staff, members of domestic fund-providing and technical service gangs, and domestic gambling gangs.

  After in-depth investigation and evidence collection, the task force found out the organization structure and personnel of the gang, the evidence chain is clear, and the time to close the network is ripe.

On January 22, 2021, in order to completely destroy the gang, under the deployment and command of the Ministry of Public Security and the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, the Guangzhou police launched a unified cluster network collection operation on the "11.11" online gambling project in 55 cities and 14 provinces across the country. The whole chain crackdown destroys the gambling group, its agency, and technical support company.

  Since last year, the Guangzhou police have cracked 16 cross-border gambling projects and solved 282 cases; arrested 1,715 suspects, of which 1,227 were in criminal detention (541 arrests were approved), and 257 were in administrative detention; the funds involved in the case were frozen 175 million yuan; 26 online gambling platforms were destroyed, 8 payment, "run points" platforms and underground banks, 17 technical service providers (gangs), and 17 promotion platforms and gangs.

  The Guangzhou police stated that they will continue to resolutely crack down on illegal and criminal activities of online gambling in accordance with the deployment requirements of the Ministry of Public Security and the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department on cracking down on cross-border gambling operations, effectively purifying the social environment, and maintaining social stability.
