The federal and state governments have lifted the prioritization of vaccination with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

This was announced by Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn after consultations with his country colleagues in Berlin on Thursday.

The German Press Agency had previously reported on a draft resolution from Spahn for the deliberations.

In it, the federal government relied on a passage from the Vaccination Ordinance.

Accordingly, the order can be deviated from, for example according to age, previous illnesses and occupational groups, if this is necessary for efficient organization or the timely use of existing vaccines.

Spahn had announced the advance the day before in the WDR.

Several federal states such as Berlin have already lifted the prioritization for the vaccine.

In Berlin you can get appointments for this from general practitioners.
