After a year of executive inaction, abandonment of functions, diverting responsibility to the autonomies and blaming the opposition for the chaos without offering a single alternative measure to the exception of the state of alarm, the Government has announced a trick that shows to what extent the management of the pandemic does not go with Sánchez.

It has decided to replace the state of alarm with the prosecution of any restrictive measure adopted by the communities.

Although regional presidents of all sign

or they demanded a legal umbrella that would allow them to restrict rights beyond the 9th, the Executive has not wanted to listen to them and has used the route of the roller to rule by decree that it is the Supreme Court who has the final decision on how far the communities.

We are not only facing the umpteenth inhibition, the umpteenth mockery of parliamentarism and the substitution of consensus for unilateralism, but also a maneuver that seriously conditions the Judiciary.

Because Moncloa's strategy transfers all political and legislative pressure to the magistrates.

He wants me to assume executive functions dictating jurisprudence.

The pressure, we said, will be enormous

. First, for the ordinary Justice, whose magistrates might feel the temptation to hold back so that the High Court is the one who assumes, as the Government's machine, the final decision. And of course for the Supreme Court, in which Moncloa will take shelter when curfews, perimeter or hospitality closures are not ratified because they do not proceed, as has already happened in more adverse pandemic situations than the current one. In fact, the Executive has already made it known that there is a conviction that the Supreme Court will endorse the measures that reason and "found" the communities. This is how Moncloa shakes off all responsibility.

The decree, another one, has not been agreed with the autonomies or with the Congress.

All parties have expressed their discomfort.

Nor is it the first time that the Executive ends up prosecuting the pandemic due to laziness or caciquismo.

But this latest evasion of their responsibilities that the autonomies will pay makes us wonder what the Government is for.
