The Macau Information Bureau announced on the 4th that in order to coordinate the Macau SAR government’s participation in the national “Belt and Road” construction and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the "Macao Special Administrative Region Bulletin" published the Chief Executive's approval on the same day to establish " "Integration into the National Development Committee" (hereinafter referred to as the committee) will take effect the day after the announcement.

  According to the instructions, the functions of the committee include coordinating the short, medium and long-term overall design and work deployment of the Macao SAR to participate in the national "Belt and Road" construction and participating in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; and to promote the "One Center (World Tourism and Leisure) Center), a platform (business cooperation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries), and a base (an exchange and cooperation base with Chinese culture as the mainstream and multi-cultural coexistence), and formulate relevant policies, implementation strategies and measures; Formulate an annual work plan, set policies and issue guidelines for the activities to be carried out.

  The instructions are clear that the committee is subordinate to the chief executive and is chaired by the chief executive.

Several working groups are set up under the committee to carry out specific tasks within its scope of competence.

The Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau provides the administrative, technical and logistical support necessary for the operation of the committee.
