These connections had not been scheduled since the first confinement.

Subject to changes in health conditions, Nice Côte d'Azur airport announced on Monday the resumption of long-haul flights to New York and Dubai this summer.

The platform, which served before the health crisis up to 120 international airports, especially in China, will find "a panel of twelve destinations in seven countries".

Algiers, Tunis, Israel and Turkey are also on the program.

Flights to the United States and the United Arab Emirates remain "however subject to changes in traffic restrictions to and from these countries".

400 fewer flights every week

"The resumption of air traffic begins this summer with a flight program which is expanded with eleven new lines, including two new destinations, Menorca and Southampton", also announced the third airport in France.

Among the new lines are Brest and Nantes with Transavia, Lille with Volotea, La Rochelle with Easyjet, Chisinau in Moldova, London Heathrow, Prague, and therefore the two new destinations, Menorca in the Balearics and Southampton.

The flight schedule for this summer will still be smaller than usual (1,000 per week, compared to 1,400 in summer 2019).

The airport signed a long-term partial activity agreement in December for a maximum period of three years, providing for employees to work an average of 60%, with a pay cut of around 18%, and the possibility of returning at 100% in the event of activity.
