On the 3rd, three men who were climbing Mt. Yarigatake in Nagano Prefecture were in distress, one was rescued, but the whereabouts of the remaining two are unknown.


Since it was a snowstorm in the vicinity, police and others have decided to resume the search in the morning.

Before 2:30 pm on the 3rd, a man who was climbing Mt. Yarigatake in the Northern Alps at an altitude of 3180 meters reported to the police that his companion had slipped down.



A mountain rescue team searched and found a man lying down on a mountain trail near the top of the mountain.



The man was conscious but unable to talk, so he was taken to the lodge at 7 pm.



The whereabouts of the other two are unknown.



On the afternoon of the 3rd, there was a snowstorm near the site and visibility was poor, and snow was piled up.



Police and others have decided to launch a helicopter in the morning to resume the search.



During the Golden Week holidays, the weather suddenly gets worse and there are many cases of distress.

Police are calling for caution, such as checking the snow conditions and preparing winter equipment.
