According to Agence France-Presse, on May 3, local time, the German police stated that they had shut down a child pornography dark web platform and arrested four members of the platform in a series of raids in mid-April.

The police stated in a statement that this child pornography platform has existed since 2019 and has more than 400,000 members. "Its purpose is to exchange child pornography worldwide."

The statement stated that the dark web forum allows users to communicate with others and share images and video content including "serious sexual abuse of young children".

According to reports, the police arrested three men aged between 40 and 64 in seven raids in Germany, and detained another suspect in Paraguay at the request of the German authorities.

The other man is "one of the most active users of the platform."

Investigators added that the months-long operation was coordinated by Europol and received support from law enforcement agencies in the Netherlands, Sweden, the United States and Canada.
