The play is a true story based on the old revolutionary base in western Fujian. In 2021, it was selected as the "One Hundred Years of Stage Art Creation Project" by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

  The whole drama of "Songmaoling Love" is based on the Songmaoling Battle, the last major battle of the Red Army before the Long March, and through the emotional persistence of a Hakka woman throughout her life, it presents the magnificent history of the Red Army before and after the Long March and reproduces the old area The great sacrifices and dedications made by the people to the Chinese revolution reflect the people’s persistent belief in the Communist Party and their beautiful vision for the victory of the revolution. The party is gone, the army and the people have a deep and noble spirit.

  The play was launched at the end of 2016, and its premiere was successfully held in Changting in November of the following year.

In the process of creation and scheduling that lasted nearly 5 years, "Love of Songmaoling" received careful guidance from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

In 2017, "The Love of Songmaoling", which was still in the first stage of its creation and ranking, stood out from the 147 works declared nationwide, and successfully ranked among the first 9 key support plays of the "Chinese National Opera Inheritance and Development Project".

In 2018, the play was selected into the first batch of "Select the Best" rolling support play of the "Chinese National Opera Inheritance and Development Project". There were only three in the country, and it was also selected as the annual funding project of the National Art Fund.
