In the garden in Matsue City, which is known as one of the leading peony producing areas in Japan, 50,000 colorful peony flowers have appeared for the first time in two years, entertaining visitors.

Daikon Island in Matsue City, located in the Nakaumi area that straddles Shimane and Tottori prefectures, is one of the leading producers of peony in Japan, producing about 700,000 peony trees annually.

At the Japanese garden "Yushien" on Daikon Island, an annual event has begun in which a total of 50,000 peony flowers are floated in a pond in the garden and spread around the aisle.

This time last year, the event was held for the first time in two years due to the influence of the new coronavirus, which forced the park to be closed. I enjoyed watching it and taking pictures.

A woman in her 60s who visited said, "I was depressed in the corona, but I felt very refreshed to see the beautiful peony spreading all over."

Mr. Toshiki Otani of "Yushien" said, "I'm glad that this event was held safely. I want you to relax by seeing the peony flowers when you are tired and continue to refrain from living."

This event is open until the 5th of next month.
