Florence Welch, known for the music formation Florence + The Machine, is working on a musical project.

The British will write the music and accompanying lyrics for a Broadway adaptation of the famous story

Welch collaborates with Thomas Bartlett, who is known by the stage name Doveman as a pianist, for composing.

The Great Gatsby

, the 1925 book by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald, is set in the 1920s and centers on the mysterious and wealthy veteran Jay Gatsby.

The story has been filmed and adapted into a theater countless times.

In the most recent film adaptation, by Baz Luhrmann from 2013, Leonardo DiCaprio took the lead role.

Florence + The Machine, known for songs like

, made the song

for the soundtrack

“This book has played a big part in my life,” says Welch.

"It contains some of my favorite phrases from literature. In addition, musicals are my first love and I feel a deep connection with Fitzgerald's broken romance. It is a great honor to be able to translate this book into music."
