• Bisbal and Aitana "Every day is a Russian roulette"

David Bisbal

intones to

Danna Paola

'I get red when you look at me', by Papa Levante, after acknowledging their mutual appreciation.

It is not the first time that they sing during this day;

the corridors on the ground floor of the ME Hotel, in the Plaza de Santa Ana, have been filled with palms and merriment.

Danna has had three coffees and gives off that self-esteem that she loves in others.

Bisbal creates a naturalness typical of any table setting in a trusted bar;

and both are heard as if it were the first time that they coincide.

They have just released their first collaboration

'Vuelve, vuel'

, a song that aims to convey to the public the importance of narrowing down distances.

How has it been working with each other?

DAVID BISBAL:

I'm going to start, because I'm very happy to tell you what it's like to work with Danna.

Wherever you see her super young, the success she has had as an actress and as a composer is incredible.

She is dedicated, disciplined and committed.

In addition, she is friendly and very joking, it is a pleasure to have her here in Spain with us.

DANNA PAOLA:

What am I going to tell him ... I've been a David fan for as long as I can remember, this collaboration is a dream come true. I have learned a lot, having his voice by my side in a song is brutal, it is something super nice to share and reflects the essence of our song. He is one of the calmest, humble, funniest and sincere people I have ever worked with. Collaboration is easy when one is willing, it is incredibly authentic. How did this collaboration come about?

DB:

It was born in a very special way. The most beautiful thing is that Danna did not arrive with the project in hand, in this case we have both gotten together to create an idea. It has been like designing our own song, which has finally been perfect for our voices throughout its range.

DP:

It has been a success, the measurements were perfect and the exact ingredients to make it come out so magical. The intention was to tell a beautiful story, and inadvertently wanting to end up connecting with the situation we are experiencing, with missing someone. Many couples, family, friends have been separated at times. We believe that we do not miss a person, but in reality we do. In the video clip, they end up taking a flight to find each other again. Is it necessary in these difficult moments that take us away from our loved ones, to make an extra effort to be there?

DB:

The difficulty is palpable, look at how all sectors have suffered, we are facing a global crisis where people have practically lost everything. It is also true that with that extra difficulty, when you manage to achieve things, you feel that you have tried three times as much. A good result tastes much better, we will come out stronger. It is a negative experience, but a way has been found to resolve things.

DP

I am introspective, recognizing For me, 2020 was the best year of my life on a personal level: I was able to settle down and be aware of what I needed. Balance, that's the word, between work and my personal life. I gave myself time and allowed myself things that I didn't do before: composing songs, meeting new people and loving, especially loving myself. I finished my album during lockdown. He had been carrying a fatal lovesickness and it was the best therapy. Being more emotional makes us understand each other better. Music works as a link between people. Has it taken on a bigger role in the wake of the pandemic?

DB

I think so, and that we have not been able to have concerts, but the confinement has made us work a lot more in the creative process. Through digital media we have been much more in contact with the followers. For example, the reception of our theme has been incredible.

DP It

has been a great tool to know that nowadays music is so ephemeral and so fast that we have to work three times, compose songs, know what works. The networks have been a great tool, although they have added work to what we already had: measuring the

fandom

. I am amazed to have such beautiful people around me and how our fans have come together to embrace the song. At the end of the day, we owe everything to the public, they play a vital role in sending messages in a society that is divided. Do you have to be careful what they say?

DB

We think that you have to be natural. I have always liked to take care of my things, some I share with people and others I keep them for my environment. I think that since we have the opportunity to give a message to society, it should be nice and positive, or at least accurate.

DP

I think that in the end we are in "a crystal generation", where everything affects them, everything can, everyone cancels and knows a thousand things; therefore, the most important thing is to be authentic and respect. Fairness is something very important, I go overboard with it a lot, I defend my ideals. With my music I try to give feminist messages, of universal love, respect or empowerment. My biggest responsibility as an artist is to be myself and not pretend to be someone else. Among you, have you noticed generational barriers when it comes to working?

DB

I am learning a lot and I have never focused on that when sharing my music. I have been lucky enough to sing with artists who have lived a lifetime like El Puma or Raphael; but I have also been fortunate to work with many who are just beginning their careers. I've taken lessons from all of them. Juan Gabriel is the artist who has done the most collaborations, with very

top

people

and with people hardly known, in that regard I take off my hat, I also want to be like that.

DP

Four years ago I decided to go back to music and I didn't think it was good for it. Thanks to the support I was able to continue, trust my instincts and let myself be carried away by the love that this discipline transmits to me. At some point someone told me that I was a singer who acted, not an actress who sang, from then on I continued to be convinced. Music has no genre, it has no age, and I don't come here to compete with anyone. They both have in common that they come from a television phenomenon, how is that managed?

DP: I

respect so much facing a

talent show

that it is hard for me to be on the other side of the chair. Now I'm with

Top Star

and it is very complicated. I don't know how to judge, I try to give advice to people, I keep learning and I get feedback from them. I come from all this, I grew up between the cameras and I think the best thing is to be surprised, I still get nervous about things.

Elite

was a great stepping stone in my career, which also gave my music a chance, the important thing was to learn from it and keep climbing.

DB

This generation is very different from mine, my case was very difficult. In

Operation Triumph

we were very isolated from the outside world, we did not know what was happening and it was the first program of that style. Managing an exit from zero to one hundred was complicated, I got very close to music and had my heart set on what I wanted to do. I got together with my family and ignored public opinion. Later I realized that all I received was affection and that will always help you. What about drawing the line between fame and intimacy? How do you do it?

DB

It is done keeping things clear and with the education that your parents give you. In my case, I share something from my personal life because it is very settled: I am a father, I have my family and I am very happy. It is normal that sometimes I post some things. Even so, if you look at my phone, what I share translates into 10% of all the things that I live in my day to day.

DP

Sure, it's not because you don't want to share. I once heard that everything that makes you happy is shared, but I am already happy and I don't have the need to give that tool to anyone. It is not necessary to know if people approve of it, the important thing is to feel fulfilled. In itself, my life is public and sometimes what comes to light gets out of hand. It is good to keep a part for us, injured people hurt and social networks are handled with a lot of mental health. I am a

centennial

very little in line with what that represents, I try to be up to date, but I end up focusing on tangible life. With the new applications it is all very ephemeral, right?

DB

Now there are many more platforms. It is not easy, like everything in life. You have to make an effort, have a well-known material, be different and provoke attraction in people. If I started my career today, of course I would sing on all the networks; but I would not stop recording my own songs to present them on record labels. Whatever it takes to achieve my dream.

DP

It is never too late, it is a matter of perseverance and of continuing to dream, everything will come at the right time. There are tastes for everyone, I have discovered many talents in digital platforms. We who already have a career should support these new artists. There are countless platforms, but the culture seems to be in the doldrums.

DB

This is a very delicate thing. I know that during the pandemic many people have lost their jobs. I have many friends, musicians, sound and lighting engineers, that if they already faced difficulties, now they have it much worse. Helping in times of crisis is always good, but it is also very important that people make an effort, that gives things greater value. It is essential that between sectors help each other, because all have suffered.

DP

It is a complicated issue, effort is essential in these situations and supporting each other. Looking to the future, what projects do you have?

DP:

Now for the concert I will have two albums together, K

nockout

was released

in February and since before I was working on my third project. The

return

promotion

returns

and several collaborations are on the way. In addition to

Top Star

that premieres on Telecinco, I will be a mentor, which sounds like Harry Potter to me.

DB

We are very happy because it seems that the restrictions are going to be relaxed for the summer and the tour will be able to go ahead. It will not be as we planned because there will still be quite strong measures, but we are looking forward to returning to the stage. Like they are going to relax in Spain or the United States, why not in Latin America? I would like to continue touring there. To finish and coming

back, come back, come back

. What is love for you?

DB

We have tried to make a viodeclip where everyone is reflected.

It is not only the distant love of a couple, we think of family members, brothers who miss each other, grandfather with grandmother, friends ... In the end, love is life and we have to share it.

DP

I get excited about this, love is home, home, fullness and freedom, it moves the world.

As David says, there are different ways to love, your partner, family and even your pet, I have brought mine.

But, if I have learned something, even if it sounds trite, it is that self-love is the most important.

It is not something that is fashionable, you need to love and respect yourself to be able to do the same with the rest.
