Ajinomoto, a major food manufacturer, announced that it will raise the price of mayonnaise by up to 10% from July, saying that the price of cooking oil, which is the main ingredient, is rising.

Mayonnaise has also decided to raise the price of Kewpie from July.

According to the announcement, Ajinomoto will raise the price of 5 types of products, including regular mayonnaise and low-calorie types, from the delivery on July 1st.



The price increase will vary depending on the size of the product and the amount of cooking oil used, but it is said to be about 1% to 10%.



It is the first time in eight years since 2013 that Ajinomoto has raised the price of mayonnaise because the price of cooking oil, which is the main ingredient, is rising.



We will also raise the price of commercial products by 3% to 10%.



International transaction prices for soybeans and rapeseed, which are the raw materials for cooking oil, are rising due to increasing demand in China and continued impure weather in the production areas, and Kewpie, a major food manufacturer, also started in July.
