The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is proceeding with securing beds in preparation for the spread of the new coronavirus infection again, securing 5533 beds, and the usage rate as of 27th is 34.8%.

As of November 1, last year, the number of beds secured in Tokyo was 2,640, and the usage rate was 38.4%.

As of December 24th, the number of beds had increased to 3,500, but in the third wave, the number of patients increased rapidly and the usage rate rose to 88.3% on January 6th at the highest time.

After that, by making some metropolitan hospitals practically specialized hospitals that accept patients with the new coronavirus, the number of beds increased to 5,000 on February 18.

We have also requested an additional private hospital to secure 5533 beds.

As of the 27th, there were 1923 inpatients, and the usage rate was 34.8%.

In addition to these 5533 beds, 511 beds have been secured as beds to be diverted when the infection spreads, and the city explains that the "maximum available beds" is 6044 beds.

In addition to these beds, we have secured 1000 beds at approximately 200 hospitals in Tokyo to accommodate recovered people.

By advancing the transfer of convalescent patients, the purpose is to maintain vacant beds and prevent the medical care provision system from becoming tight.
