Governor Suzuki of Mie Prefecture has announced that he has officially requested the government to apply "priority measures such as prevention of spread" in response to the rapid increase in the number of newly infected people in the prefecture.
The government has indicated that it will continue discussions on the application, saying that it would like to cooperate while looking at the number of infected people.
