The social network Facebook and the online media Konbini are joining forces with the launch on Wednesday of a new program entitled "Coincidence? Yes".

This new series of videos aims, with the help of an expert, to deconstruct the conspiracy theories that abound on the Internet, and circulate in particular thanks to social networks.

It is an astonishing alliance which launches Wednesday, that of the social network Facebook and the editorial staff of the online media Konbini News.

The two web players are jointly launching a series of videos aimed at helping Internet users fight against false information, the famous fake news, and more particularly conspiracy theories.

Already very present on the Internet, they abound on social networks, thanks to the health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Deconstruct conspiracy theories

The new program launched Wednesday by Facebook and Konbini is called

Coincidence?

Yes

.

A title which obviously refers to the conspiratorial expression “Coincidence?

I do not believe...".

This is a series of videos posted on the Konbini News page.

In each issue, an expert will deconstruct with pedagogy and humor a conspiracy theory fueled by false information.

"This strategic partnership is part of an ever more committed editorial line to provide concrete answers to the young generation that we represent", explains in a press release the co-founder and president of Konbini, David Creuzot.

A first video around the theory of the "Great reset" is already online.
