"Devyatayev"

The film "Devyatayev" is based on real events and tells the story of the pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Devyatayev. During the Great Patriotic War, he was captured, ended up in a concentration camp, but managed to escape. Together with other prisoners, Devyatayev developed an escape plan, according to which the prisoners captured a German bomber, lifted it into the sky and flew to the USSR.

The plot of the film by Timur Bekmambetov and Sergei Trofimov is centered around this episode.

According to the creators of the tape, they tried to represent the events of that time as accurately as possible.

When writing the script, the book "Escape from Hell" by Mikhail Devyatayev, numerous archival documents and memoirs of other pilots were used.

In addition, the son of a military man, Alexander Devyatayev, who has been perpetuating the memory of his father for many years, took part in the work on the film as a consultant.

The main role in the film was played by Pavel Priluchny.

Pavel Chinarev, Timofey Tribuntsev, Dmitry Lysenkov, Evgeny Serzin and other actors also starred in the film.

"On the far frontiers"

Maria (Victoria Tolstoganova), the wife of the deputy commander (Sergei Shnyrev), lives at a distant Russian military base.

She is burdened by the closed life of the town and dreams of returning to the "mainland".

The heroine enters into a relationship with the captain Krainov (Alexander Kudin), who serves under the command of her husband.

The filming took place in Kyrgyzstan in 2018.

To make the picture reliable, director Maxim Dashkin watched the life of the military town of Kant.

In an interview with the portal kulturomania.ru, Dashkin said that he perceives the film as a story of loyalty and “a conversation about the price we pay when we break loyalty,” meaning, among other things, a person’s loyalty to himself.

Nevertheless, the director, in his own words, preferred to do without moralizing.

The film was included in the competition program of the 42nd Moscow International Film Festival in 2020.

According to the results of the audience vote, he took second place.

"Asya" (Asia)

Asya, the main character of the film by Israeli director Ruthie Pribar, became a mother at the age of 18.

Together with her daughter Vika, she left Russia for Israel, where she got a job as a nurse.

The audience catches them when Ace is already 35, and Vika is 17. The young heroine communicates with skaters, goes to parties and tries to learn the joys of adulthood.

At the same time, due to problems with the musculoskeletal system, Vika may soon lose the ability to move.

When a girl gets worse, a special emotional bond is established between her and her mother.

Eric Cohn of IndieWire notes that filmmakers have managed to avoid the clichés of sick teen films.

The critic warns that the picture has a very difficult ending.

According to THR employee David Rooney, actresses Alyona Yves and Shira Haas managed to fill the inexpressive story with self-esteem and humanism.

"The Adventures of the Exhibit"

Pasha is an excellent student at school and does not commit any out of the ordinary actions.

However, the life of a teenager changes when his father, an art critic, is kidnapped.

The police refuse to help Pasha, and he himself embarks on a search for his parent in the company of a classmate and Ilya's sworn enemy.

Their big adventure will involve bandits, servants of the law, reenactors, the mysterious Captain Geek, as well as an unknown masterpiece of painting.

The filmmakers admit that they were inspired by Soviet films for a teenage audience "Dagger" and "Bronze Bird".

"The Adventures of the Exhibit" is a full-length debut of director Alena Oleinik and the first feature-length feature film of the "Picture of the World" film company.

The Night

The action of the horror film by the Iranian director Kurosh Ahari takes place in a deserted hotel, where lonely and sinister children roam the corridors, and in general the atmosphere is so-so.

Critics admit that comparing Night with Stanley Kubrick's iconic The Shining is inevitable, but admit that the new film has its own strengths.

Many experts point out that the director manages to create genuine fear in the audience.

RogerEbert.com editor Matt Zoller Seitz writes that the filmmaker is attentive to details - from filling the space to working with focus, and the plot of the film turned out to be unpredictable.

According to the script, Babak, his wife Neda and their little daughter, getting lost on their way home, stay at a hotel. They turn out to be the only guests (although they themselves do not know about it), and strange things begin to happen within the walls of the hotel.
