It has been 10 years since the discovery of mass food poisoning, which killed five people who ate raw meat, such as yukhoe, at stores in the three Hokuriku and Kanagawa prefectures of the yakiniku chain.

It was an opportunity to review food safety measures, but one of the bereaved families said, "We need to continue to appeal for food safety so that no one will have a hard time."

Ten years ago, in April 2011, 181 people who ate raw meat yukhoe etc. became food poisoning caused by pathogenic Escherichia at a store in the three Hokuriku prefectures of the yakiniku chain store "Yakiniku Sake House Ebisu" and Kanagawa prefecture. Five people died, including three children.

The then presidents of the company that operated the chain were subsequently sent documents on suspicion of accidental fatal injury, but the prosecution did not prosecute last year, ending a series of investigations.

In addition, in a civil trial in which the bereaved family and victims of Toyama Prefecture sought compensation from the operating company and the president at that time, three years ago, the operating company was ordered to compensate, but the president at that time did not accept individual responsibility. The decision was finalized.

After this mass food poisoning, when serving raw meat, it is obligatory to heat the surface, and the provision of raw beef liver at restaurants etc. is also prohibited, and food safety measures will be reviewed. It was an opportunity.

Hidetomo Kubo of Oyabe City, Toyama Prefecture, who lost his second son, who was 14 years old at the time, due to food poisoning, said, "I don't want a family to have such a painful feeling anymore. It's been 10 years, but I'm not saying about food safety again. If you don't keep saying it, it won't be a reminder. "

In addition, Masahiro Konishi of Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, who lost his wife and mother-in-law, said, "I think it is still strange that the victim's voice did not reach and the individual manager could not be held responsible in criminal cases or civil trials. I am. "
