The collection location was not disclosed, and the sewage was analyzed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Health and Safety.



As a result, the new coronavirus was detected in one sample taken on the 22nd of this month.



No virus with the highly infectious "N501Y" mutation was detected.



The Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education distributes kits to all students and faculty members of the metropolitan schools near the collection site and calls for cooperation in tests to check for infection.
