Direct Coronavirus Spain today, breaking news
The rejection of the vaccine disintegrates in Spain despite the doubts generated by the injection of
AstraZeneca
and the constant changes in the age group.
Spaniards do not express rejection to be vaccinated, according to data from the
Eurobarometer
presented today in Madrid.
Only 6% say they do not intend to do so, a lower figure compared to the European average where the anti-
vaccine
stance
reaches 12%.
On the contrary, the Spanish are willing to receive the dose that immunizes against the
coronavirus
. 56% want it to happen as soon as possible, a percentage 12 points higher than the rest of EU citizens (44%). And overall, one in five would like it to be this year.
Support for the vaccine is so great that for a vast majority, 70% of Spain and 71% of the EU, it
is the only way to end the pandemic
. And it even extends to the way the EU has managed its acquisition. Despite the delays in deliveries and the slowdown in the vaccination process, which only now seems to pick up speed, three out of four Spaniards, 76%, think that
Brussels has played a key role in
ensuring access to the injection. In the rest of the countries, this satisfaction is somewhat lower, 69%.
In any case, the reactions that the application of the vaccine has had in some people, with some
statistically residual death
, do have an impact on European public opinion.
Although the majority of Spanish society does not understand, 63%, that there are those who do not want to wear it, 34% are understanding.
In the EU, support for this decision rises to 41%.
