In 2018, Tianjin man Zhang Moufan took his wife Xiaojie and his 20-month-old daughter on a trip to Phuket, Thailand, and later killed his wife Xiaojie for obtaining a huge amount of insurance.
On December 24, 2019, the defendant Zhang Moufan was sentenced to life imprisonment.
