Thanks to the publishing sector at Dubai Media Corporation for the qualitative initiative launched during this holy month, "The Road to Entrepreneurship", to support entrepreneurs from small and medium enterprises by broadcasting 30 videos throughout the holy month of Ramadan, to highlight the experiences of these young people and their stories. With innovation, highlighting the value of their projects to society and the economy, and the amount of challenges they faced in order to achieve their goals.
I do not consider it a mere initiative, but rather a reward for all these people for their continuous effort in establishing their entrepreneurial projects to see the light and serve the community, and a way to support them and shed light on their projects to expand and reach the largest segment of customers, and it is a step forward to enhance the role of the local media in motivating individuals and encouraging Entrepreneurial work, and the promotion of the principle of innovation, as a basic concept in all economic fields, as there is no stronger means than the media to motivate a person to become effective in his society.
Young people are the focus of attention and the focus of the development process, and everyone should join hands and cooperate to enhance the role of this segment in the success of all future development strategies, and the role of the media here does not depend on publishing their news only, but more than that. Concerned, and helping them find the necessary solutions for the success of their projects so that they have weight in the economy equation, and have the ability to keep pace with the goals and directions of the state that seeks to enhance the contribution of the small and medium enterprises sector in the economy by 70%.
According to official data, small and medium-sized companies in Dubai constitute about 95% of the total companies, and contribute 40% to the emirate's GDP. This sector, at the level of the emirate and the state as a whole, has witnessed no less than 16 initiatives so far to support it, but media initiatives remain the strongest in terms of communicating information and news about all the support initiatives and programs adopted by the various parties to the concerned youth on the one hand, and disseminating their stories and support on the other hand. Therefore, I commend the "Road to Entrepreneurship" initiative, and I hope to circulate it on various media platforms and platforms throughout the year (not for a period of one month only), so that this group of young people take their right of attention and give them the opportunity to expand the spread of their projects and entrepreneurial ideas among members of society, And enhancing the contribution of small and medium enterprises to the GDP, as well as supporting the state's strategies to establish a sustainable investment environment.Nothing is better in that than the media after education, for media and education are both means of implanting what we want in the souls of individuals of the values we want, and with them we can direct society either forward and towards progress and prosperity, or backward by implanting destructive principles to destroy its values. The media has become the most powerful authority in our time, with the spread of social media platforms and digital media, so finding solutions and ways to harness it in building societies, consolidating their values and principles and supporting the economic development process is required. In the country, this was realized early, and laws were developed and channels were created to organize media content, and create constructive content in line with the vision of the future. Among these channels we mention the "Dubai Post" platform, which focuses in its content on events, topics and issues that highlight the values of hope, creativity and achievement in the country. It promotes the cultural and knowledge product of the Emirate of Dubai, as a media project targeting youth with a future vision.In this regard, we call on those in charge of this platform to give full attention to local entrepreneurs and project owners in all basic economic fields such as industry, trade, professional business, and other sectors to introduce them, and do not forget the real estate sector as well, and to spread the experiences of entrepreneurs in the real estate field. This will be the next step to focus on the bright aspects of the sector, to contribute to its revitalization as one of the important sectors in the local economy.
