In response to the state of emergency, orders from restaurants have been canceled one after another at liquor stores in Kyoto City, and there are calls for increased support.

As a measure to accompany the state of emergency, Kyoto Prefecture is requesting restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages to be closed, and is also requesting that hotels and wedding halls refrain from providing alcoholic beverages.

In response to this, at the liquor store in Yamashina-ku, Kyoto, orders have been canceled one after another from restaurants since the middle of last week.

At this store, due to the prolonged impact of the new Corona, last year's sales were down about 25% compared to the previous year, and liquor inventories were piled up in the warehouse.

On the other hand, the government says that it will provide a maximum of 100,000 yen a month to the sole proprietors of restaurants, but sales will decrease by more than 50% compared to last year. There are conditions, and the application is strict at this store.

Hirohiko Morimoto of the Aburaya Morimoto Sake Main Store said, "Retailers like us have low profits on selling prices, and we have to close the store if sales drop by 50%. I would like to ask for continuous support like a restaurant, not a lump sum payment. "
