The mosque is built on red sandstone, in addition to marble, and was designed in the Islamic Mughal way, with three domes, a main dome and two smaller domes, and two minarets on both sides of the building, which overlooks a large courtyard extending 100 meters, which accommodates 25 thousand worshipers, and a pool A square shape intended for ablution, with a width of 15 meters for each side, and a depth of one meter, which worshipers also call the lake.

The mosque is based on the traditional design based on a courtyard, four galleries, and three gates, and the mosque has four facades, the eastern of which is the main one, with a square area whose side length is about 160 meters, and the prayer square is distinguished by three iwans, the largest of which is the qibla iwan, which is distinguished by a large mihrab, decorated With classic floral and Islamic decorations, in addition to a small and simple pulpit made of white marble.

The mosque contains a small room, which smells of perfume and incense, and contains some rare archives, which were transferred during the Abbasid era to India, and were preserved by the kings and princes, and ended up in the treasury of the Great Mosque in Delhi.
