Where did this Siberian tiger come from?

Zhang Minghai, director of the Cat Research Center of the National Forestry and Grass Administration of China and professor of the College of Wildlife and Natural Reserves of Northeast Forestry University, introduced: The tiger has been active in the Sino-Russian border area recently. It is not yet possible to conclude that it is from Russia. Accurate traceability requires China and Russia. Both parties jointly further verified.

Zhang Minghai said that which country the tiger came from is not the core issue. The core issue is how China and Russia can establish an effective cross-border protection mechanism to jointly protect the Siberian tiger, an endangered and rare species.

At present, the traceability of this Siberian tiger has been officially launched, and the results will be obtained soon.

The much-watched Siberian tiger in the village got its name "Wandashan No. 1", which originated from the geographical location where this tiger appeared in the hilly area of the southwest of Wandashan. Historically, it was the distribution area of the Siberian tiger. In recent years, this area There have also been traces of Siberian tigers nearby.

From the perspective of the construction of the Siberian tiger cross-border ecological corridor, the discovery of Siberian tigers in Mishan City is of great significance.

According to Zhang Minghai's analysis, there is one of the most important and urgently needed ecological corridors in the Sino-Russian cross-border Siberian tiger ecological corridor planning: Wanda Mountain East-Wanda Mountain West-Laoyeling North-Laoyeling South. If this ecological corridor can be restored, the large population of Siberian tigers in Sikhote Ali in Russia can be connected with the false road China of the small population in Leopard Park, so as to realize the channel of population genetic exchange.
