Toshiro Kandagawa, a culinary researcher who has run several restaurants in Osaka City and has appeared on many TV programs and gained popularity for his light talk, died early in the morning of the 25th.

Mr. Kandagawa was infected with the new coronavirus and was being treated at a hospital in Osaka city.

Toshiro Kandagawa, his real name, Toshiro Otake was born in Kyoto in 1945, and after training at a famous restaurant, he opened a Japanese restaurant in Kita-ku, Osaka in 1965.



After that, in addition to managing multiple restaurants, he appeared on many TV programs and gained popularity for his light talks such as the splendid kitchen knife handling and the decision of "Cooking is the heart".



He also served as Honorary Chairman of the All Japan Cooks Association and has been training cooks all over the country.



According to people familiar with the matter, Mr. Kandagawa was confirmed infected with the new coronavirus on the 16th of this month after being taken to the hospital after being ill at home.



He was hospitalized and treated, but died very early.
