Ibaraki Prefecture and Mito City announced on the 24th that they have confirmed that 82 new people have been infected with the new coronavirus.
This is the 13th consecutive day that the number of infected people has exceeded the same day of the previous week.
So far, a total of 7811 people have been confirmed to be infected in the prefecture.
It was also found that seven of the confirmed infections by the 24th were infected with the mutated coronavirus.
Infection with the mutated virus has now been confirmed in 182 people in the prefecture.
