• Amazon Prime Video unveils this Friday, April 23 its new show

    LOL: Qui rit, sort !,

    presented by

    Philippe Lacheau.

  • Adapted from a Japanese format, the concept of the game is simple: ten contestants must try to keep their seriousness while trying to make their opponents laugh.

  • The program offers a fine cast of actors and comedians: Kyan Khojandi, Ines Reg, Bérengère Krief, the duo Fadily Camara and Hakim Jemili, Tarek Boudali, Reem Kherici, Julien Arruti or even Gérard Jugnot and Alexandra Lamy.

It does not laugh anymore! Or at least, that's the point of the game… For

 LOL: Who laughs, goes out!

, launched this Friday on Amazon Prime Video, its host Philippe Lacheau, has formed a four-star cast. Gérard Jugnot and Alexandra Lamy come to face the comedians Kyan Khojandi, Ines Reg, Bérengère Krief, Fadily Camara, Hakim Jemili, as well as Tarek Boudali, Reem Kherici and Julien Arruti from the “Fifi gang”. These ten participants enter, one by one, suitcase in hand, into a bling-bling living room with golden moldings, seeming to come straight out of an episode of the Kardashian family.

For the next six hours, they will have to try to stay calm in the face of the valves, jokes and pranks of others while trying to provoke their hilarity by any means possible.

If there is a smile, it's the yellow card.

A second ?

It is elimination.

The winner of this intense exercise wins € 50,000 donated to the charity of their choice.

For now, only the first five episodes have been posted.

The sixth, that of the final, is expected Wednesday.

Schoolboy humor and disguises

This Amazon Original concept created in Japan has been successfully rolled out in Mexico, Australia, Italy and Germany. We watched the first episode of the French version by challenging our zygomatics not to move… From the first minutes, it's pretty easy. The reality TV format and the tricks of the comedians leave us to fear the worst. Some candidates like Bérengère Krief or Reem Kherici try their hand at schoolboy humor with jokes on farts and other absurd gags. Others such as Gérard Jugnot opt for the rehearsal comedy with disguises, sometimes of giant strawberry, Robin Hood or shepherdess. The recurring interventions of Philippe Lacheau as master of the game, they interrupt the game in a rather laborious way.

Then, we see that the format is conducive to improvisation and allows personalities to let go.

We then discover unexpected facets of certain candidates such as the sarcastic spirit of Kyan Khojandi or the stoicism of Tarik Boudali ready to do anything to win.

LOL's

humor

: Who laughs, goes out!

is rather good-natured and does not burden itself with subtlety.

But remaining unmoved is surprisingly more complicated than you might think.

In spite of ourselves, we find ourselves hooked by the addictive side of the game and we are surprised to have a smirk or a burst of laughter (a little ashamed) here and there.

OK, let's get out.
