Saitama Prefecture has decided to dispatch infectious disease specialists to medical institutions that have not accepted patients so far in order to increase the number of medical staff who can respond to the new coronavirus, and to start efforts to develop human resources.

Of the approximately 340 medical institutions in Saitama Prefecture, 82 medical institutions accept and respond to patients with the new corona, but do not accept them due to lack of medical staff with knowledge of infectious diseases and treatment experience. It is believed that there are many medical institutions.

Under these circumstances, Saitama Prefecture has decided to dispatch specialists for infectious diseases to medical institutions that have not accepted patients so far, and to start efforts to develop human resources.

Specifically, we will dispatch doctors and nurses who are familiar with infectious diseases to back-up hospitals that accept patients who need rehabilitation even if their condition recovers, and provide guidance on treatment methods and infection prevention measures.

The prefecture says, "Since the number of patients is increasing, we would like to develop medical personnel and help secure beds," and will soon start this initiative.
