The Egyptian Fatwa determines the birth date of the Prophet Muhammad

The Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa, in an advertisement on its official Facebook page, has settled the recurring controversy over the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in the calendar months.

The Egyptian Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa said on its website, "If the Gregorian date was calculated for our master, the Messenger of God, it would have fallen on April 20."

The scientific advisor to the Mufti of the Republic, Dr. Magdi Ashour, explained that “the date of the Prophet’s birth in AD is approximate, between 20 and 22 April, indicating that“ it was most likely that it was on April 20 of the year 571 AD: ”This is a renewed historical issue, but from Determined by the people of the Gregorian calendar more precisely ».

Ashour asserted that “he wrote the reconciliations between the Hijri and Gregorian dates, after their investigations, which say that the day of the Prophet’s birth took place on the 20th of April ... and this Gregorian month is the first full spring month, so the spring of his lunar birth coincides with the spring, when the Prophet was born on Monday. The 12th of the month of Rabi` al-Awwal, the time of dawn, in the year of the elephant, in the 53rd year before the honorable Prophet’s migration, considering the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday - whether it was April 20 or 22 - as a commendable matter.
