Sharjah Children's Reading Festival continues to receive applications to participate in the "Knight of Poetry" competition, which it organizes annually in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, until the sixth of May via the link: https://bit.ly/ 3ehSiNI. Confirm the acceptance of the participation request by communicating directly with the participants of the festival administration.

The festival, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, allocated valuable prizes to the contest winners, as the first place winner will receive 3000 dirhams and the hair cover, and the second place winner will receive 2000 dirhams, while the third place will receive a prize of 1000 dirhams.

Through the competition, the authority seeks to promote the literary taste of children and adolescents, and to create a new generation of poets able to read and memorize Arabic poems and be able to recite them in front of the public.

The award targets three categories: the first is students of elementary grades from the first to the fourth, where the participants must memorize one poem out of 10 verses from a group of poems selected for this category, the participants will be directed to deliver it before the jury, while the second category includes students of intermediate grades from five to eight. , Who must memorize and recite two of the 10 verses of poems especially for this category, and the third category is intended for students from the ninth to twelfth grades, as they must memorize three poems selected to be recited before the jury.

The competition organizing committee has set a number of conditions for participation, including memorizing the contestant for a number of poems according to the category to which he follows, and being able to correctly pronounce the words with the quality of control and the exits of the letters. From the poem.

Schools wishing to participate in the competition can nominate three in all areas of the competition, provided that they train them in memorization and recitation and qualify them to participate, and the need to specify the area of ​​participation in the contest application form.

Regarding the organization of the competition, the general coordinator of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, Khawla Al-Majini, said: “This competition is part of the festival’s strategy and objectives aimed at instilling authentic culture and learning the Arabic language in new generations, to be able to build their homelands. The interest in the Arabic language and its dedication in them is an interest in the future. New generations and an investment in their awareness, identity and belonging ».

And the general coordinator of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival added: “We are keen in the festival to provide everything that serves the advancement of children and adolescents' energy and creativity and provides opportunities for them to discover more about the worlds of literature and art. The Sharjah Children's Reading Festival will be held this year during the period from 19 to 29 May, under the slogan "Your Imagination", taking all necessary precautionary and preventive measures to ensure the protection of participants and visitors, as the festival management developed an integrated plan to conduct daily sterilization of the festival's facilities, halls and lobbies, in addition to providing scanners.
