"Since I was a child, I also liked listening to operas. My parents often ride a bicycle to take me to the opera." Song Xiuhong said that the typical stories and characters in traditional opera are the source of inspiration for her creation.

  For more than 50 years, she has insisted on creating handicrafts.

"I really like it very much. Sometimes I stay in the room all morning and do handicraft work." Song Xiuhong said that she would sew wallets, gourd pendants, etc. for the children every Chinese New Year. The wallets were embroidered with the children's names and titles on the gold list. And so on.
