In July 2019, the Hong Kong police found about 1 kilogram of "Trione Peroxide" (TATP) high-performance home-made explosive in an industrial building in Tsuen Wan and arrested Lu Yishen, a member of the "Hong Kong National Front".

The case was pronounced in the Hong Kong High Court on April 23, and the defendant was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The judge pointed out that Lu Yishen was the main figure in the case and was the most serious of its kind. It was potentially more dangerous than the 1997 case in which the "King of Thieves" Ye Jihuan was in possession of two kilograms of explosives. The criminal liability may even be heavier than that of Ye Jihuan, considering that the defendant had already Pleaded guilty and sentenced the defendant to 12 years in prison.

The Hong Kong police immediately met with reporters and said that the number of home-made bombs seized by the police in this single case was the most in recent years.

The seizure of 1 kilogram of TATP in this case is the most home-made explosives seized by the police in recent years. In addition to these explosives, the police also seized a large amount of materials and weapons used for demonstrations at the explosives factory.
